Week 4 Recap

Well, I missed last week because I was in Houston on vacation, which ostensibly killed my diet. But I must say, you always eat well with my grandparents. We went to Gaido's on Monday, an especially fancy steak and seafood house on Seawall in Galveston, and then ate the delicious but coronary-inducing James Coney Island on Tuesday night. About the only healthy things I did while there: swimming, walking the mall, and eating at Jason's Deli (about the only healthy restaurant out there). And when Mallory and I came back it was quite difficult to get back into the swing of things. Though I did walk some and keep the eating to a minimum, I still had far too many sodas and candy (during movies and inventory shifts and such). But I'm going to try my hardest to get back on that horse and hide this week. The hardest part will be exercising again, which has always been my least favorite thing to do.

LAST TIME: 188 lbs.
THIS TIME: 190 lbs. (+2)

HIGH POINTS: Some cardio (walking, swimming)
LOW POINTS: Everything else

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK: Get back into the swing of things.

REVISED GOALS FOR THIS DIET: I'm not going to put a number on pounds I need to lose. I just want to be a bit more healthy, have my clothes fit a bit better, and not feel exhausted after work (it's not every shift I feel like that, just the longer ones where I have to bend over and lift a lot).

Week 2 Recap

Still a struggle. I was sick for a good portion of the week, so my eating habits were definitely off-kilter. Definitely had some slip-ups this weekend (M&Ms, pizza), but I'm ready to get back into the swing of things and amp up my exercising.

LAST WEEK: 188 lbs.
THIS WEEK: 188 lbs.

HIGH POINTS: Eating at home before I go out to places, choosing healthy options at Jason's Deli
LOW POINTS: Candy and pizza this weekend

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK: Keeping stricter tabs on what I eat, more (consistent) exercise

Week 1 Recap

So it didn't all go according to plan this past week, but that was to be expected as I adjust to working again, working out again, and starting a new eating plan.

STARTING WEIGHT: 190 lbs.
CURRENT WEIGHT: 188 lbs. (-2)
HIGH POINTS: Not getting fast food despite being starved after The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 screening, buying more healthy foods
LOW POINTS: Nasty pizza at Next Day Air, Strawberried Peanut Butter M&Ms at The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, way too many lemon squares this weekend, stealing some of Jamie's fudge cake a la mode at Buffalo Wild Wings.

GOAL(S) FOR THIS WEEK: No more fattening snacks, not indulging in fattening foods after a long day at work (hopefully I can keep to this by saving some smoothies in the fridge to grab after work), amp up the exercising.

Starting

Sunday, June 7.

A new day starts tomorrow.

I begin Men's Health magazine's Abs Diet.

It's not really a diet, because it's actually going to work.

I don't have to restrict any foods. It's just about making better choices and moving a little bit.

So begins my new project for the summer.

The goal: 20 pounds of fat lost in 10 weeks.

Let's do this.
